Water ski equipment
The most vital piece of water ski equipment you need is
the life preserver. Many states require the use of one for any towed
water sport activity. The life jacket should fit snugly and have multiple
buckles for ideal protection.
Other important pieces of water ski equipment include ropes and handles.
Water ski ropes are slightly elastic to absorb tension as the water
skier changes speeds and turns. Many water ski ropes have adjustable
lengths to suit the water skier’s needs. Some water ski ropes
also have split ends to allow two water skiers to be pulled at once.
There are two different types of handles for water ski ropes. As with
purchasing most water ski equipment, the best option depends on the
water skier. Recreational water ski handles generally come in plastic
or rubber and float in the water. Higher performance handles are lighter
and more durable, but their hollow build allows water inside and may
lead to sinking. Both types of water handles come in different sizes
for different skiers.
